Research is about testing ideas that build upon existing evidence in new and creative ways to generate new knowledge and understanding. It allows societies to understand their world and make it better through advancements in the practice and policies of medicine, urban planning, immigration, nutrition, education and so much more. However, issues relevant to the BIPOC community have been under-researched, while the capabilities afforded the BIPOC research community are also disproportionately hard to reach.
To improve the equity of BIPOC engagement, access, and representation in research, ProofPilot is hosting this open invitation to researchers of all kinds in the BIPOC community, to bring more attention to the issues that affect this community, while providing resources to solve them. All researcher topics are welcome – medical, social, mental health, nutrition, education, etc. The winner will be determined by the uniqueness of the research idea, feasibility to implement the research, and value of the research concept to the broader community.
*ProofPilot is pleased to partner with Greater Gift, a nationally recognized advocate for diversity representation in clinical research, as our charitable fiscal partner, who will be accepting tax-deductible donations on behalf of ProofPilot to support the winners of the competition. 100% of donations received will be disbursed to the winner of the ProofPilot BIPOC Research competition. All donations collected will be in addition to the $2,500 minimum award.
