We find that studies that include some kind of biomedical intervention that is beyond something an individual would do on a day to day basis tend to require more than just a button based consent. Studies with experimental treatments and treatments that have a high degree of risk or side effects also require more than a button based consent.
Studies that test materials that are readily available to consumers over the counter generally do not.
